Membership payments are due July 1 of each year and renewable every July.
The Society, organized in 1978, has been registered in the State of Maine as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is included in the Maine State Archives list of local historical societies. The Society is a member of the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) and the Maine Association of Museums (MAM).
One of the critical needs of the Society is the restoration of Sweden’s Center Schoolhouse in order to provide a home for the Society and meet its mission to provide the town with access to historically significant materials. To contribute, click the Donate button below.
